Stand alongside refugee and host communities in Jordan and witness HNCO's humanitarian work first-hand. Jordan hosts over 1.3 million Syrians — one of the world's largest refugee populations — alongside Palestinian, Iraqi and Yemeni families, many displaced for more than a decade. Years of conflict, regional instability and recent cuts to international aid have pushed households deeper into poverty, with rising rents, soaring food prices and harsh winters forcing families to choose between food, medicine and shelter. On this deployment you will travel with the HNCO team into refugee camps, informal settlements and host-community neighbourhoods to deliver food parcels, hygiene kits, winter essentials and emergency cash support directly into the hands of widows, orphans and vulnerable families — restoring dignity, hope and a sense that the world has not forgotten them.

66% of refugees in Jordan were living below the poverty line in the 2026 socio-economic survey.

UNHCR recorded about 190,000 Syrian refugee returns from Jordan since December 2024.

World Bank figures show Jordan hosts around 475,000 registered refugees, equal to roughly 4% of its population.
