You can do this either by fasting, or you can do this by making a donation. These donations are referred to as Fidya and Kaffarah. There are several specific circumstances where you may have a legitimate reason to not fast during Ramadan . These reasons include sickness, travelling and nursing. In these situations, it is best to make it up later. However, you can also choose to pay Fidya for every day you did not fast. On the other hand, if you miss and break a fast intentionally and you do not have a well founded reason, you will have to fast for 60 days consecutively. Your only other option is Kaffarah. If you skip a fast, you can pay Fidya only if your reason for skipping is reasonable. This donation must be able to provide an underprivileged person with two meals. You can take care of this obligation easily via HNCO for around £3.50.
