The significance of Nisf Sha`ban
The fifteenth of Sha`ban holds a special place in Islamic tradition. Many scholars, drawing from authentic and well-supported hadith, describe it as a night on which Allah's mercy descends abundantly, sins are forgiven for those who sincerely repent, and the divine decrees for the coming year are recorded. For the Naqshbandi-Haqqani tariqa, it is a night of intense worship — Qur'anic recitation, salawat, dhikr, du`a for the deceased, and heartfelt repentance.
