Many scholars, drawing from authentic and well-supported hadith, describe it as a night on which Allah's mercy descends abundantly, sins are forgiven for those who sincerely repent, and the divine decrees for the coming year are recorded. For the Naqshbandi-Haqqani tariqa, it is a night of intense worship — Qur'anic recitation, salawat, dhikr, du\`a for the deceased, and heartfelt repentance. ### About Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani is a globally respected teacher in the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi order, deputy of Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani, and founder of numerous educational, charitable and interfaith initiatives across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Trained in both traditional Islamic sciences and chemistry, he has authored dozens of books on Sufism, Islamic spirituality and Prophetic tradition, and has spoken at major international forums on peace, tolerance and the inner dimensions of Islam. ### What to take from this message In his Nisf Sha\`ban message, Shaykh Hisham typically emphasises three themes. First, the urgency of tawba — turning back to Allah with sincerity while the gates of mercy are wide open. Second, the importance of salawat upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which Mawlana describes as the most effective means of drawing divine grace. And third, remembrance of the ummah — praying for Muslims everywhere who are suffering, displaced, hungry or oppressed, and dedicating the night's worship as a collective gift.
