Stand alongside refugee and host communities in Jordan and witness HNCO's humanitarian work first-hand. Jordan hosts over 1.3 million Syrians — one of the world's largest refugee populations — alongside Palestinian, Iraqi and Yemeni families, many displaced for more than a decade. Years of conflict, regional instability and recent cuts to international aid have pushed households deeper into poverty, with rising rents, soaring food prices and harsh winters forcing families to choose between food, medicine and shelter. On this deployment you will travel with the HNCO team into refugee camps, informal settlements and host-community neighbourhoods to deliver food parcels, hygiene kits, winter essentials and emergency cash support directly into the hands of widows, orphans and vulnerable families — restoring dignity, hope and a sense that the world has not forgotten them.
Why deploy to Jordan?
Jordan hosts one of the largest refugee populations per capita in the world — Syrian, Palestinian, Iraqi, and Yemeni families who have endured decades of displacement. Vulnerable Jordanian households also face rising costs and shrinking opportunity. This deployment places you at the heart of the response.
- Visit Palestinian and Syrian refugee communities and see the realities of multi-generational displacement.
- Distribute food parcels, hot meals and Zakat to vulnerable households alongside HNCO field teams.
- Sit with widows, orphans and elders, listen to their stories, and carry their dua home with you.
- Experience faith-sensitive humanitarian work delivered with dignity, not pity.
