Two organisations go hand in hand for Qurbani
HNCO is happy, humble and honoured to collaborate with Muslim Hands for Qurbani 2019
Qurbani — the sacred act of sacrifice performed during Eid al-Adha — is one of the most important acts of worship in the Islamic calendar. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS) in obedience to Allah, and the meat distributed afterwards is a direct lifeline to millions of families who may only taste fresh meat once a year. For HNCO, making sure every Qurbani is performed according to strict Shariah guidelines — and that every gram of meat reaches those most in need — is a responsibility we do not take lightly.
To strengthen the reach and integrity of our Qurbani programme in 2019, HNCO entered into a formal collaboration with Muslim Hands, one of the most respected and longest-established international Muslim non-profits in the world. Muslim Hands has been operating since 1993, is active in more than 50 countries, and holds some of the highest audit and compliance standards of any faith-based NGO. Partnering with them allowed us to scale our distribution dramatically while maintaining the trust and transparency our donors expect.
Why the collaboration matters
By pooling logistics, livestock sourcing and field teams, HNCO and Muslim Hands were able to deliver fresh, healthy Qurbani meat to impoverished families across Pakistan, Bangladesh, Palestine, Yemen, Somalia, Niger, Mali and many other countries where food insecurity is severe. Every animal was inspected for health and age, slaughtered by trained professionals in accordance with Islamic law, and the meat divided into family-sized portions distributed within hours of sacrifice.
Transparent, trackable giving
Donors who gave their Qurbani through HNCO received confirmation of their sacrifice and, where possible, updates with photographs and distribution reports from the field. Our joint operation with Muslim Hands meant your Qurbani didn't just feed a family for a day — it was part of a coordinated, compliant, verified global effort that brought joy and nourishment to tens of thousands of Muslim households during the blessed days of Eid.
We thank every donor who trusted us with their Qurbani, and we continue to collaborate with partner organisations to ensure every sacrifice reaches the people who need it most.
