Muharram is one of the four sacred months (Ashur al-Hurum) established in the Quran: "Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve — of which four are sacred" (9:36). In these months, the Prophet ﷺ taught that good deeds earn amplified reward and sins carry greater weight.
